The Pier Pettinaio Restaurant<\/strong>, also known by many as \u2018ex Guido\u2019, is located in the heart of Siena<\/strong>, a short walk from Piazza del Campo<\/strong> and Palazzo Tolomei<\/strong>. Its origins date back to 1931<\/strong>, when the Rondini Guidebook mentioned a rosticceria (deli) run by Margherita Burroni at the address then known as vicolo di Pier Pettinagno. In 1935<\/strong>, the eatery was renamed \u201cGuido\u201d when Guido Borri <\/strong> took over the licence and set up the rosticceria and bar that would bear his name for decades.<\/p>\n

ver time, the restaurant has changed hands several times, with notable owners including Piero Falchi, Ivo Cingottini & A. Cucini and Sergio Cavion (also known as \u2018Sergio della Selva\u2019). It is currently run<\/strong> by Danilo Boschi<\/strong>, who was Captain of the Nobile Contrada del Bruco between 1981 and 1986.<\/p>\n

Today, the Pier Pettinaio Restaurant is proud to preserve nearly a century of Sienese history<\/strong>, with its people<\/strong>, stories<\/strong>, and authentic flavours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Since the 1930s, our restaurant has been a popular<\/strong> haunt for artists<\/strong>, intellectuals<\/strong>, and celebrities<\/strong>. The walls of the restaurant are filled with photos and memorabilia<\/strong> of unforgettable guests, such as Italian film stars Alberto Sordi<\/strong> and Vittorio Gassman<\/strong>, opera singer Luciano Pavarotti<\/strong>, and Mel Gibson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
